Tonga Stool
Though many of these stools have the same general style, they come in a variety of geometric designs, making each one a piece of art and history.
Hand-carved from a single piece of wood, the Tonga stool is a genuine artifact. These stools were status symbols for elders of the nomadic Tonga people of Zimbabwe. They carry significant meaning, for the Tonga people, then and now. Each is carved to incorporate unique lines, shapes, and patterns, making it easy to transport but also breath-taking to behold. Handmade from hardwood, they can be used as stools, tables, or as a display accessory.
